We discuss the production of heavy quarkonium in high energy heavy-ion collisions within a rate equation approach. We argue that heavy quarkonium serves a good probe for investigating color screening of quark anti-quark potential in the medium by doing sensitivity check of R_AA from different binding energy scenarios. A Langevin simulated non-thermal bottom quark spectra coalesces to an off equilibrium bottomonium regeneration spectra, which describes the data with a flat trend of transverse momentum dependence. We show that the elliptic flow of excited states is larger than the ground state for both primordial and regeneration components. Although the regeneration contribution to ground state bottomonium is not essential, it is still important for the excited state at the LHC energy. The regeneration contribution to charmonium state is very important for us to correctly describe the excitation function from SPS via RHIC to the LHC energy.
